Welcome to Fabulous Under Five Feet…

“Hey, aren’t you that little reporter?”

I was stopped and asked this question while taking a jog at a park in Quincy, Illinois. I called Quincy home for about 15 months while I worked as a multimedia journalist for a local news station in the area.

The stranger in the park’s question threw me off for a second, but I soon felt like Kourtney Kardashian (aka a petite icon).

When I moved to Quincy, I could barely drive a car, hold a camera, or conduct an interview. Don’t get me wrong, some of these things I still struggle with on a daily basis, but the man in the park who told me he liked my work and I looked smaller in real life gave me the confidence that maybe I was doing something right.

Despite getting laid off this month, I want to continue talking with people and sharing stories. I plan on interviewing individuals who inspire me and others during what has been described as the craziest time in our lifetime. I look forward to continuing my dream of becoming “a little reporter.”
